,My biggest piece of advice is to go into recruitment at UT with an OPEN MINDI cannot stress this enoughplease try not to listen to other girls and thier opinions of the houses, especially if they are negative. Most likely the girl that says she will only go XYZ or AB will be cut by those two houses and she will either eat crow or drop out. Better than Theta for sure. I'm rushing KD in the fall. ,UT rush is incredibly competitive due to the high number of legacies and in state students who already have connections with the chapters, plus the number of PNMs who only seem to want one of six chapters. Girls are as classy as they want to be, the letters on their chest does not effect that. The rest of us made great friends with other girls in our dorms or in our major. I would spend time reading some of the recruitment stories on UT to understand just how brutal the cuts can be

Since the above poster already commented on the first half of the houses, we need to talk about the second half. Texas Panhellenic Zeta only cares about looks. Yes Zeta did well. I find this to be interestingly accurate for major generalizations about sororities. Very nice/smart girls. Im a DZ and we just received the 2019 Chapter of the Year award from the University of Tennessee Panhellenic Council. Rest looks spot on. Fraternity members consider DZ girls a lot of fun. The rest of the 'general' descriptions are amazingly accurate. DO NOT pay any attention to articles like this. Every house has an objective and will recruit accordingly. Not a good rush for them. Chi-O: A lot of girls seemed to prefer Chi-O to Pi Phi and Kappa. What's it all mean? Kappa.doesnt have the rich rep, or cute, they kinda hate each other. NO ONE has the right to try to determine which is "better" than the other. Some say the sorority is full of girls who were rejected at top-tier sororities but are still solidly mid-tier. If KD is a top-tier and that is the South only. Some sororities have close ties to fraternities on the same campus and get together informally and for major events. So my assumption is that you are going into rush without knowing (m)any girls in the chapters. Sorority and Fraternity Life welcomes new members, develops leaders, and advises council communities. I hope that whoever wrote this or may read this can see beyond stereotypes. They got lots of girls who made it through two rounds of at least one of PKT but then got dropped. They do have a reputation, like Kappa, of being snobby, but Kappa seems to care more about their 'image' than Theta or Pi Phi.
